Found this post while researching on how to eradicate global poverty and the organisations helping out. It is from the blog of Good Ventures -an international charity organisation founded by Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz, and Cari Tuna. You can check out their vision and values too.
They work closely with GiveDirectly -an organisation that gives out (no-strings-attached) $1000 to poor households in Africa, and are similar to GiveWell, another organisation that believes global poverty can be reduced by giving cash directly to the poor as a form of aid.
The economist Esther Duflo (co-author of Poor Economics, the book I reviewed the other day, and co-founder Poverty Action Lab) is a strong advocate of financial aid, given directly to the poor, as a tool to eradicating global poverty.
I hope you enjoy the post.
