Actually it was really $17!
Remember the stubborn doctor colleague of mine I told you about in February saying he graduated from my Forex school having learnt the hard way? He is in the news again. lol. He is very humbled now though, and no longer stubborn at all.
On Friday morning as he was about to leave for work, he woke me up rudely but excitedly (-I actually taught him Forex trading 'for free' in exchange for bed space at his place when I came back from Kano). He said to me that there was an opportunity in the market to make so much money that day and he didn't want me to miss the opportunity.
He showed me the set up of the major pairs we trade and I was convinced there was money to be made.
Here are chronological screenshots of his account history, produced with his permission:
He started at $51 on Monday, July 6. He made some losses and his balance came down to $17. It was this $17 he took to about $202 on Wednesday and then withdrew $150. He then started again at $52, made $100, withdrew $50, lost it, and quickly returned the $50, cancelling the order. It was this $50 he was now trading with that morning as he left for work.
I further analysed the market alone after he left, and saw that there was truly going to be massive movement for the day -which had started already- so I transferred $270 (N50,000) into my account. [Now, I only trade when there are clear-cut opportunities to make money because of some recent losses and my busy schedule of late.]
I wanted to show my friend who is the boss.
And guess what? I made $600 (74 pips) in 15 minutes!
And that's because I entered late and didn't want to stay in the trade for long. Total market movement for GBPJPY for Thursday and Friday (from lowest price to highest) was about 520 pips! If I had left the trade till just before the market closed, I would have made about $1,400 (174 pips) over 12 hours.
Below is a screenshot of my account history you can see the 15 minutes time interval between 8:15am and 8:30am. (Note also that GBPAUD moved massively-about 400pips):
DISCLAIMER: DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME (WITHOUT AN EXPERT AVAILABLE). It is extremely risky to trade Forex!!!
I withdrew $700, as you can see in the screenshot, and have used the money to register for the first three stages (F1, F2 and F3) of ACCA. And my new tutors tell me that with my passion and the new exam schedule, I should become a chartered accountant in 2 years, with a B.Sc in Accounting from Oxford-Brookes as bonus.
This is now my second short term financial goal. [The first, I already told you, is to raise N1 billion ($6 million) in two years, and we are nine months gone].
By the way, my student withdrew $275 on Friday -for a total withdrawal of $475 over three days- to start again on Monday with $50 (he left in his account). When he shared this record-breaking news with me, he was astounded with mine. lol.
However, my Forex dream is to teach (secondary school) students Forex trading for free, through our start up Credicoins Network. I want them to be so good as to be able to also turn $1 into over $250.
Bill and Melinda Gates luring me back into Medicine
Two weeks ago, I was asked to send my curriculum vitae and come for an interview by one of the senior colleagues with an NGO I worked with in Kano last year. It is for a chance to work on a new Bill and Melinda Gates foundation-funded initiative that intends using mobile phones to monitor health data and family planning parameters with a view to improving health service delivery systems.
While the pay is not so good for a medical doctor (a little under $1500 for an intensive six-week data-gathering session), I told my interviewers I could even (volunteer to) do it for free. This is because my start up company- Credicoins Network- also intends using mobile phones to directly eradicate poverty, and indirectly improve the health status of rural Nigerians (which is why we applied for the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation grant in May). More so, I need all the first hand experience and hands-on skill-set I could get before Credicoins takes off.
I keep my fingers crossed on the outcome.
That is all for now. Credicoins would start programming anytime from now. That, I am sure will take our valuation above the present $1 million, into at least $5 million, hopefully.
See you soon, and don't forget, 'Whether you think you can, or you think you can't, (either way) you are right!'
