AGAIN, CONCERNING GIVING IN THE BIBLE

www.sijinius.blogspot.com

1. There is no place from Genesis to Revelations where God said that when you give, then you will never be poor. And unless you first give, that is when you won't be poor. That is a deceptive, demonic lie from the pit of hell.

You can actually give your way into poverty if you give covetously to fellow fraudsters asking for your money, or you give amiss/with the wrong motive. They will dupe you by collecting all your money from you.

[I just can't understand why someone would be talking about "giving and poverty" in the same sentence. What is the connection, if you are not a fraudster?! Yes, you can talk about "giving and wealthy people", or "giving and abundance", etc. But not giving and poor people. What are you trying to achieve- make them poorer?!!]

ALL MONEY IN THE CHURCH IS FOR THE POOR

www.sijinius.com

As I earlier showed, there is no place in all of scriptures where the poor are commanded to give. The Bible consistently tells the rich and comfortable to give to the poor- from Genesis to Revelations (Deut 15:7-11, Prov 11:25, 19:17, Ps 37:21, 112:9, Matt 19: 21, Luke 8: 38, 2Cor 9:1-5, 1 Tim 6:17-19).

Unlike what some pastors will have us believe, THE POOR ARE NOT POOR BECAUSE THEY DO NOT GIVE (neither is poverty a sin)!!!

Moreover, we know that the church is one globally- only limited geographically.

So, what is the duty of the church to the poor?
[Let me lay some foundation first.]

Giving To Go To ‘The Next Level’, Building Magnificent Church Buildings, And Other Stories

www.sijinius.com
On social media recently, I have seen a couple of funny stories of people misinterpreting biblical giving.

The first is this laughable picture from a Nigerian church trying to raise money to build a new church building...from poor church members in a poor country!!!

www.sijinius.com

That magnificent church building of yours is an economic waste

Recently, a friend and I walked passed this gigantic church building-warehouse on a street and I lamented to him- “This is an economic waste of a building!” I said to him that in a pathetic situation where businesses are folding up, and the only organisations able to buy up warehouses are ‘charity organisations’/churches, then our (national) economy has moved into the church, yet they do not pay taxes! The buildings springing up everywhere are economic wastes, wise Christian (leaders) do not waste time and money on physical buildings!

4 Real Reasons Why Billionaires Give To Charity

www.sijinius.blogspot.com
The Zuckerbergs
Last week, Mark Zuckerberg wrote a letter to his newborn daughter -Max. In it, he and his wife Priscilla Chan stated that they will be giving away 99% of his Facebook shares (presently worth about $45 billion) to charitable causes. Though some news media reported it as 'Mark Zuckerberg Vows to Give 99% of His Facebook Shares for Charity'. (Some comedians have since named their daughter 'Charity' and asked Zuckerberg to send their share of the money. lol).

Of course, what he meant is that he believes in using wealth to better humanity, and making the world a better place for all, by investing in causes that will fulfill that dream and desire.

The Final Secret of Wealth...

sijinius.com

...THE SECRET TO LIVING IS GIVING.

sijinius.com

Section 7          Just do it, enjoy it and share it!
Chapter 7.1      The future is brighter than you think
Chapter 7.2      The wealth of passion
                      Chapter 7.3      The final secret

This chapter is the last but not the least, and presents a befitting climax to the message of this great book of wealth and financial information- Money, Master The Game.

Tony says, “This book has never really been just about money. What it’s really about is creating an extraordinary quality of life- life on your terms. Until now we’ve zeroed in on how to master the game of money and financial independence because money can have a significant effect on everything from our psychology, to our health, to our intimate relationships. But it’s important to remember that it’s impossible to live an extraordinary life if you don’t also master the game of relationships, the game of fulfilment, and the game of health.”

Key Questions for Every New Donor | Good Ventures

Found this post while researching on how to eradicate global poverty and the organisations helping out. It is from the blog of Good Ventures -an international charity organisation founded by Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz, and Cari Tuna. You can check out their vision and values too.

They work closely with GiveDirectly -an organisation that gives out (no-strings-attached) $1000 to poor households in Africa, and are similar to GiveWell, another organisation that believes global poverty can be reduced by giving cash directly to the poor as a form of aid.

2 Videos -On Saving, and Investing -That Have Inspired Me (And Countless Others) Recently

sijinius.blogspot.com

Hello, I want to share with you two videos I came across recently that inspired me greatly.

The first is of a washer woman who shook the whole of America in 1995 when she gave most of her life savings of $250,000 out to charity (-many of you might have heard of her. It was she who inspired Ted Turner to give the $1 billion that became UN foundation).

Still On Tithes And First FRUITS: 2 Chrn 31:10

On 14th of October, I wrote a two-part series on Biblical giving. The first article which was on Tithes generated a lot of traffic, and as you can see on my homepage, it is one of my most popular posts.

Today, I want to share with you one of my favorite bible verses (I haven't completed the series yet), and guess what?

It is on tithes. Yes, you heard me right.

2 Chronicles 31: 1-10, especially vs 10. Let me show you from the KJV:

How To Give To Charity Without Spending Cash

Today I will share with you some tips on donating to charity without spending money, or spending so little.

It can be through giving your time, efforts, or your clicks on a website, but it is sure gratifying to know that you can give without spending cash.

Ø  Give your time/volunteer your services for a favorite charity instead of donating money.

Ø  Donate some of what you produce in your company to charity. Instead of donating profits, you could give to charity some of the shoes you produce, or some of the eggs from your farm, etc.
